Making the journey from Wexford to Galway this fellow took on a local raider in the Derek O’Connor-trained and J P McManus-owned Pure Steel, and after a good battle between the pair only a neck separated them with a wide eight lengths back to the third. He seemed to travel smoothly throughout this contest including over the second last and showed plenty of likeable attributes when battling all the way to the line, and narrowly missed out on victory. On the basis of this performance he looks a smart sort, that has a bright future ahead of him. He is out of an own sister to Carrigeen Acebo and from the family of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Minella Indo along with Benatar and Chicago Grey who are also closely related.
