The Great Nudie has to rank very highly among this season’s top four-year-old mares’ maiden winners after she simply destroyed the opposition to make her winning debut at Ballingarry last Saturday. Notably, a full field of 15 horses lined up for this contest, and although Shes All Pride and Justabitofyours, two of her chief rivals, successfully increased the tempo to burn off the attentions of most of their rivals along the back straight. She produced an impressive turn of foot to immediately quicken clear. The race was over as a contest by the home bend, such was her authority over the field, but it was a gallop that she upheld all the way to the line, which she hit full of running to prevail by 18 lengths. When that winning margin is taken alongside the fact that she also clocked the quickest time on the card, and it confirms a very talented debut.
